Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is delighted to pick up his first point of the season after drawing at Newcastle United.
After losing their opening two matches, Ciaran Clark gave the away side the lead before Hatem Ben Arfa struck the equaliser, meaning that Villa went home with a point.
Lambert believes that his side deserved the point and hopes to build on that performance.
"I thought we were well worthy of it, to be perfectly honest. We came here, a really difficult place to play with the crowd right on Newcastle's side," said Lambert.
"The young lads were excellent throughout the game. It took a wonder-goal to pin us back and we also had really good chances to win the game.
"But I was delighted with the way they played, they were very, very good."
Villa moved out of the relegation zone following the draw.
