Matt Lowton has said that Aston Villa must show fight in their next two matches if they are to remain in the Premier League next season.
The club, which is in the bottom three, faces the only two sides below them in the table in their next matches.
The 23-year-old defender told Villa's website: "We said before the Man City game that we had to compete. We didn't create enough chances to maybe earn a point. But the effort and endeavour was definitely there. We have to make sure it is between now and the end of the season.
"We have to take the confidence from the performance and the endeavour into Saturday. It's very tight down there. There are a lot of teams in there.
"But the next two Saturdays are massive games for us. We have to show the fight that we have done and the quality will come through to get the points we need."
Villa face Reading tomorrow, before hosting Queens Park Rangers next weekend.
