Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has revealed that he is looking to sign "big players" this summer.
The Scot's future at Villa Park had been in doubt following the announcement that owner Randy Lerner wants to sell the club, but he confirmed on Monday that he intends to stay at Villa Park.
While admitting that the club's future has provided an "unstable" situation when it comes to transfers, Lambert is eager to boost his squad for next season.
"This football club needs big players and it's something I will try to bring in," he told Sky Sports News. "We have to get these types of players in and move it on. This club can't keep doing what it's doing.
"It's unstable because it's up for sale and anything can happen. In the meantime I'll do my very best to get big players in."
Villa finished the 2013-14 season in 15th place in the Premier League table.
