Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has insisted that his side must continue to work hard after their 1-0 win over Alaves on Saturday.
Torres, who started on the bench at the Wanda Metropolitano, netted the winner for Diego Simeone's men in the second half in a result which took the club three points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona.
The former Liverpool striker, however, is aware of the continued work needed by Atletico if they are to keep the pace with Barca.
"Alaves played a very clever game," Torres told Marca. "We had a hard time finding opportunities. We're on a good run though and above all, we had to win.
"I'm happy to score the goal. As long as you have the feeling that you've done your job, that's enough. Now it's time to continue working hard.
"Atletico are now second. This is where we want to be and that's important."
Simeone's next match is a trip to Espanyol next Friday.
