Atletico Madrid have been set an asking price of €50m (£42.7m) for Inter Milan striker and captain Mauro Icardi, according to reports.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from San Siro this summer, with the player's wife and agent Wanda Nara declaring that he is up for sale due to "economic" reasons.
Both Inter and the player are understood to be reluctant to part company, but the club's financial situation means that they may be forced to sell up.
However, Nara insisted that Icardi would not be allowed to leave on the cheap, hinting in a message on Twitter that it would take a bid of more than £40m to prise him away from the Serie A club.
The one-time Argentina international joined Inter from Sampdoria in 2013 and has since gone on to score 52 goals in 105 appearances.
