Barcelona 'reject Ivan Rakitic bid from Premier League club'

Barcelona reportedly turn down an offer of £13m from an unnamed Premier League club for Ivan Rakitic.

Barcelona have reportedly turned down an offer of £13m from an unnamed Premier League club for unsettled midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

The 31-year-old continues to be linked with a move away from the Spanish champions having struggled to earn a starting role in Ernesto Valverde's first XI this season.

Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus have all been credited with an interest in the Croatia international ahead of the January transfer window.

However, according to Sport, an unnamed Premier League club launched a £13m offer for the 2018 World Cup finalist in the hope of opening contact talks.

The report claims that Barca were quick to reject the bid, though, as they are looking for closer to £30m for a player who has a contract at Camp Nou until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

Manchester United have previously been linked with a swoop for the former Sevilla captain.
