Roma have reportedly denied that they are interested in signing defender Thomas Vermaelen from Barcelona.
The 29-year-old endured a miserable debut season at the Camp Nou, making just one appearance due to a number of injury problems.
The former Arsenal man has since been linked with a move away from Spain, with reports on Monday suggesting that the Giallorossi had approached Barcelona to discuss a loan move.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has told the La Liga giants that his club have no plans to try to bring Vermaelen to the Stadio Olimpico.
Vermaelen's only appearance for Barcelona during the last campaign was a 2-2 draw with Deportivo La Coruna on the final day of the season.
