Barcelona have reportedly turned down interest from Roma in Thomas Vermaelen.
The Belgian international moved to the Camp Nou last summer, but did not play a part in their treble success following a succession of injuries.
The centre-back has been involved during pre-season, however, and it is understood that he will be part of the first-team picture for the new campaign.
According to Corriere dello Sport, after the Joan Gamper Trophy last week, Roma approached Barcelona over a loan move for the former Arsenal defender.
However, the same report has claimed that the interest was quickly rejected.
Vermaelen, 29, made his official Barcelona debut in their final La Liga match last season.
