Former Germany midfielder Mehmet Scholl has criticised striker Mario Gomez's performance during Germany's 1-0 win over Portugal on Saturday.
Gomez, 26, netted the only goal of the match when he headed home in the second half, but Scholl believes that his all-round display was not good enough.
"He had two or three actions - that was it," said Scholl.
"I have seen him run more [than against Portugal], but seldom less.
"If he did much, much more work, he would get even more chances and score more goals."
Gomez, who scored 41 goals in 52 games for Bayern Munich last season, has won 53 caps for the national side since making his debut in 2007, scoring 23 goals.
