Former Bayern Munich midfielder Lothar Matthaus has urged the German champions to consider selling playmaker Thiago in this summer's transfer window.
Thiago scored seven times in 32 appearances for Bayern during the 2017-18 campaign. The 27-year-old only started 12 Bundesliga matches last term, however, and his form was indifferent for long spells.
Matthaus has said that his former club should sell the Spain international if they receive "an appropriate offer" in this summer's transfer window.
"Thiago has not made the difference in the big games so far," Matthaus told SportBild. "I actually like him, but he was a shadow of himself. Thiago has disappointed me in recent weeks.
"I do not know where he is with his head. With these issues, he is not a player for Bayern Munich. If there is an appropriate offer, you can think about it. Especially since Bayern have Thomas Muller, James Rodriguez and Leon Goretzka for the same position."
Thiago joined Bayern from Barcelona in the summer of 2013.
