Blackburn boss Steve Kean is confident that Junior Hoilett will sign a new deal at the club.

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean is confident that Junior Hoilett will sign a new contract at the club.

The 21-year-old midfielder has yet to agree a deal past the summer at Ewood Park.

"I think it's been very public where we are with Junior's contract," Kean told Sky Sports News.

"I've never had a problem in bringing Junior up through the development pathway he's had at the club. He's a top player and we're still hopeful he can be with us.

"If it goes beyond this window and he's still here until the end of the season then we'll have to sit down at the appropriate time with him and tie him to the club because we're developing players and we want to keep him."

Rovers are currently 17th in the Premier League table.
