Blackpool manager Jose Riga has claimed that he will take his time before deciding whether to offer El Hadji Diouf a contract.
Diouf, who was released by Leeds United at the end of last season, has been training with Blackpool recently, but Riga has suggested that he will not rush to begin any negotiations with the Senegalese forward.
"I have to discuss it with him and he has to be fit first," the Belgian told reporters. "He has a lot of experience, of course, but he needs training and we need to make a good decision.
"I don't want to rush because he's free - it's a not a question of us doing it before a date."
Blackpool continue their search for a first point of the new Championship campaign against Millwall on Saturday afternoon.
