How Borussia Dortmund could line up against Wolfsburg

Sports Mole looks at how Borussia Dortmund could line up in Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Wolfsburg.

Borussia Dortmund will be out to make it six Bundesliga wins in a row when they take on Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena this weekend.

BVB cruised to a 4-0 win over Schalke 04 in last week's Revierderby, but they remain four points behind an equally in form Bayern Munich side.

With a huge Der Klassiker showdown with Bayern on the horizon next week, Lucien Favre may be tempted to rotate his side for Saturday's trip to Wolfsburg.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Dortmund could line up against the Wolves.

Possible BVBXI vs. WOL

Out: Marco Reus (thigh), Nico Schulz (muscular), Dan-Axel Zagadou (knee)
Doubtful: Axel Witsel (groin)

Despite the emphatic nature of their victory over Schalke, Dortmund were without a number of key players for last weekend's return to action.

Holding midfielders Emre Can and Axel Witsel missed out, though the former has recovered from injury and should return to the XI on Saturday, likely in place of Thomas Delaney.

Jadon Sancho was only fit enough for a late cameo appearance last weekend, but he has had another week to recover from a groin issue and is expected to start this match.

Should that be the case, Julian Brandt will likely drop into a deeper position to allow Thorgan Hazard and man of the moment Erling Braut Haaland to partner Sancho in attack.

Elsewhere, Marco Reus is expected to miss the rest of the season with a thigh issue, while Nico Schulz and Dan-Axel Zagadou have also been ruled out.
