Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has admitted that he was delighted to see striker Will Hoskins open his account for the season.
Poyet said that he had faith that Hoskins, who netted Brighton's second in the 2-0 FA Cup third-round win over Premier League side Newcastle United, would open his account for the season against the Magpies.
"Today I told him he would score a goal," The Argus quotes Poyet as saying. "I know how difficult it is for strikers when they come on for 20 minutes or half an hour or even playing from the start and not scoring. He was desperate.
"He settled the game for us because there were nerves in the stands and among the players as well."
Brighton also knocked Newcastle out in the fourth round of last year's FA Cup.
