Chris Hughton upbeat despite Brighton & Hove Albion loss

Brighton boss Chris Hughton refuses to be downbeat following his side's 1-0 loss to Brentford.

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton has remained upbeat following his side's 1-0 defeat at home to Brentford.

The 10-man Seagulls were narrowly beaten at the Amex Stadium on Saturday as Andre Gray's goal made the difference in the Championship clash.

Despite losing his first home match in charge of Brighton, Hughton believes that he has a squad that is capable of recovering quickly.

"I'm learning more with every week and every game," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I knew that we've got a good group of players and my responsibility is to get this team as strong as possible.

"Generally, home form is an indicator for the league position and we must make this a tough place. We need to do something about our form at home."

Brighton are back in Championship action on Wednesday when they host promotion-chasing Ipswich Town.
