Sami Hyypia relieved over Brighton & Hove Albion win

Sami Hyypia expresses his relief after watching his Brighton & Hove Albion side end an 11-game winless streak by beating Wigan 1-0 on Tuesday.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Sami Hyypia has described Tuesday's 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic as a "big relief" amid speculation over his job.

Gary Gardner struck after just one minute at the Amex Stadium last night as the Seagulls ended an 11-game winless run, with their last victory coming way back in August.

"It was very important to win in this situation and the team showed a lot of character," he told Sky Sports News.

"It's a big relief to get the win; I just concentrate on my job and work with the pressures. I do what I believe.

"I make my own pressures as for outside pressures, I don't really care."

Hyypia's side sit 20th in the Championship table, one point clear of the relegation zone.
