Swindon's Paolo Di Canio and Leon Clarke scuffle on the touchline after Southampton defeat.

Swindon Town boss Paolo Di Canio was involved in a touchline bust-up with striker Leon Clarke after their 3-1 Carling Cup defeat to Southampton last night (Tuesday).

Footage shows Di Canio trying to push and pull Clarke towards the tunnel, but Clarke appears to not want to oblige.

Di Canio and Clarke are then seen pushing each other in the tunnel before staff intervene.

Following the incident, Clarke went back out onto the pitch and left the ground in his kit, while Di Canio opted not to take part in a post-match press conference.

"Leon and the fitness coach were having words after the game and there was clearly a disagreement between the two of them," interim Swindon chairman Jeremy Wray said after the game.

"He was keen to get him down to the dressing room but Leon didn’t want to go down at the time and there was clearly a misunderstanding there.

"It got to a situation where the whole thing blew up very fast. There was frustration on both sides."

Wray has promised a full investigation into the incident.
