John Hughes has said that Celtic must increase their offer for Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Ryan Christie.
The Caley manager confirmed that Celtic lodged a bid of £500,000 for the 20-year-old which was rejected.
"The boys in England know when there is a real talent coming through up in Scotland," Hughes told BBC Sport.
Asked if Celtic's offer was too low, he said: "When you see some of the stuff going on down south, definitely."
"If Glasgow Celtic or Rangers come calling you don't turn the Old Firm down, but everybody is forgetting it has to be right for Inverness."
Christie played in Inverness's Scottish Premiership draw against Dundee on Saturday.
