Charlton Athletic are expected to install Bob Peeters as their new manager, his current club Waasland-Beveren have said.
The Addicks are currently managed by Jose Riga, who led the club to Championship safety after taking over from Chris Powell in March.
Despite helping Charlton off the bottom and up to 18th by the end of the season, Riga recently suggested that it was only a "short mission".
Peeters, 40, who had a two-year spell in South London as a player for Millwall between 2003 and 2005, now looks to be the favourite to take over at The Valley.
"It looks very likely to happen," a spokesman for Belgian top flight club Waasland-Beveren told BBC London 94.9.
Charlton are believed to want to make an announcement on their next manager by the end of the week.
