Steven Gerrard insists that Chelsea striker Fernando Torres "will be a threat" if selected for the FA Cup final.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has said that Chelsea striker Fernando Torres "will be a threat" if he is selected for the FA Cup final this afternoon.

The Spaniard, who left Liverpool in the middle of last season, has struggled to find form following his arrival at Stamford Bridge. However, after grabbing a hat-trick against Queens Park Rangers last weekend, Gerrard insists that he can still be a danger.

"We will have to wait and see what team their manager picks but if Fernando Torres is in there then he will be a threat," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"We saw when he was here what he's capable of. He's had a difficult time at Chelsea but he seems to have got his form back.

"Torres wanted to go there. You have to respect that. We moved on without him. We're delighted with the strikers we've got here."

The former Atletico Madrid man has now scored seven goals in 44 appearances for Chelsea.
