Chelsea's Gary Cahill: 'We're expected to challenge for Premier League title'

Gary Cahill believes that it will be "difficult" for Chelsea to win the Premier League title, but is aware of the expectation surrounding the club.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is aware of the expectation surrounding the team in the Premier League, but expects a tough challenge to win the title.

The Blues have been widely tipped as favourites for the crown after signing Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis this summer.

Jose Mourinho's men have begun the campaign with two victories in a row against newly-promoted sides Burnley and Leicester City.

"We've added to our squad, we know where we slipped up last year, so the first two games have been very important for us," Cahill told the club's official website. "Other teams have also strengthened so it's going to be very tough.

"We know the expectation level at the club - we always expect to be in and around there but the Premier League is very difficult."

Chelsea's next game is away to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
