Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that Eden Hazard is the best player in the Premier League this season, adding that anyone who disagrees "wants to throw sand into people's eyes".
The Belgium international has scored 12 goals in 30 matches to help the Blues top the table by seven points with eight games to play before Sunday's clash at QPR.
Mourinho told BBC Sport ahead of the game at Loftus Road: "I think what he's doing, speaking in a very honest way, it shouldn't even be a debate.
"If somebody throws other names on the table, it's because he wants to sell papers, wants to throw some sand into people's eyes, because [Hazard] is by far the best player in the Premier League all season."
The last Chelsea player to win the Premier League Player of the Season award was Frank Lampard in 2004-05.
