Jose Mourinho praises Premier League's festive period

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho praises the Premier League's traditionally hectic festive period.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has praised the players of the Premier League for the way that they handle the traditionally hectic festive period.

Mourinho watched his side beat Liverpool 2-1 win on Sunday in what was his team's third game in six days.

He told Sky Sports News: "First of all, and it is not just this game, but every game in the Premier League, the players deserve fantastic credit because what they do is amazing.

"To play so many games in this [Christmas] period is beautiful and I love it, but the players are monsters and I say that in the good sense.

"Every game I watch for sure in every stadium, they deserve my respect and everyone else's. What they do is amazing."

The result against the Reds leaves Mourinho's side in third in the Premier League.
