Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has claimed that he and his teammates will try their "best" to edge closer to the top four in their remaining 10 games of the season.
The Blues tumbled down the table under Jose Mourinho, who was sacked in December, and their chances of finishing in a Champions League position diminished.
Under the guidance of interim boss Guus Hiddink, the Blues have gone 12 Premier League games unbeaten and they moved up to eighth in the table following a 2-1 win over Norwich City on Tuesday night.
Chelsea are now five points behind a European spot and eight adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City.
"It's very important to win games," Matic told Chelsea TV. "We're a big team and we have to do this if we want to be closer to the first four. It's very difficult to catch them, but we'll try our best to win every game."
The Blues' next game is against Stoke City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
