John Terry has claimed that Chelsea should not feel bad about selling Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku.
The trio are all excelling at their respective clubs after leaving Stamford Bridge while Jose Mourinho was in charge.
Salah has scored 20 times for Liverpool this season, De Bruyne has been instrumental in Manchester City opening up an 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League, and Lukaku is back playing under Mourinho following a £75m move from Everton.
When asked by Sky Sports News whether the Blues would regret the trio's departures, former club captain Terry replied: "Not really, because at the time they didn't make our team stronger.
"Let's not forget we were one of the best teams probably the Premier League has ever seen, in those early days when they arrived. So they were coming into one of the best sides which was even more difficult.
"When they come in can they make a big enough impact to sustain and keep their place? No, it's very difficult to do."
Chelsea won two of the last three Premier League titles but currently sit third in the table, 14 points behind City.
