How Chelsea could line up against Everton

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Chelsea could line up in Monday's Premier League clash with Everton.

Chelsea will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League when they welcome an in-form Everton to Stamford Bridge on Monday evening.

The Blues, who recorded a 1-0 win over Liverpool last time out to move into fourth spot in the table, could welcome back Thiago Silva, who has recently been on the sidelines with a thigh issue.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel will not take any chances when it comes to the Brazilian, though, and therefore it would not be a surprise to see Andreas Christensen keep his spot in the middle of the defence.

Tammy Abraham is also battling to overcome an ankle issue in time for the contest, but Chelsea are otherwise in excellent shape as they prepare to host Everton, who are currently fifth in the table.

Tuchel could shuffle his pack from the clash at Anfield, with Olivier Giroud potentially returning to lead the attack, meaning that Mason Mount and Timo Werner could operate in the wide areas.

Reece James could keep out Callum Hudson-Odoi on the right, but there is a chance that Marcos Alonso could be given the nod over Ben Chilwell as the left-sided wing-back.

Mateo Kovacic is also pushing for a return in midfield, while Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz are options in the final third of the field.

The importance of the contest means that Tuchel is likely to stick with those who have impressed since his arrival, though, meaning that there are not expected to be too many alterations on Monday night.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; James, Kante, Jorginho, Alonso; Mount, Giroud, Werner
