Chelsea reportedly earmark PSG striker Edinson Cavani as an ideal replacement for Alvaro Morata, who has been heavily linked with a move back to Juventus.

Chelsea have reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani as their number one choice to replace Alvaro Morata this summer.

Morata only joined the Blues last year, but the Spaniard has struggled to settle in at Stamford Bridge and has recently fallen behind January arrival Olivier Giroud in the pecking order.

The 25-year-old is reportedly on the verge of sealing a move back to former club Juventus, although the Italian champions are unwilling to pay any more than £60m for the striker.

Morata is thought to be keen on the switch, though, and Tuttosport claims that Chelsea have already earmarked Cavani as an ideal candidate to replace him.

The Uruguayan has scored 39 goals for PSG across all competitions this season, becoming the club's highest ever scorer in the process, but his future remains uncertain following reports of a fallout with star player Neymar.

PSG are understood to be willing to sell the 31-year-old if they can secure a replacement, with Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski thought to be on their radar.

However, Chelsea are likely to face competition from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Juventus for Cavani's signature.
