Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has reportedly moved a step closer to signing a new contract with Chelsea.
Courtois returned to Stamford Bridge this summer after spending three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid, and he has immediately become Jose Mourinho's first-choice shot-stopper.
The reward for taking Petr Cech's place in the Chelsea side will be a new five-year contract, according to the Daily Mail.
Courtois still has two years remaining on his current deal, but Chelsea are eager to secure his services for the foreseeable future, and he is likely to receive a big wage increase for committing to the club.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that Cesar Azpilicueta had signed a new five-year deal with the Blues.
