Liverpool and Chelsea could battle for the signature of Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Alexis Mac Allister this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool and Chelsea could reportedly go head-to-head for the signature of Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Alexis Mac Allister during this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for the Seagulls during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 10 goals and registering two assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.

Mac Allister was also a vital player for Argentina at the 2022 World Cup, making six appearances at the competition, as the South American nation won the trophy in Qatar.

Brighton have the attacker on a contract until June 2025, with the option of a further 12 months, but there is currently widespread speculation surrounding his future.

The Seagulls are thought to be bracing themselves for summer offers, and according to Relevo, both Liverpool and Chelsea are keen to secure his services in the upcoming market.

Mac Allister's father recently revealed that "clubs are starting to call" when asked for an update on the transfer situation surrounding his son ahead of the summer window.

"The clubs are starting to call us about Alexis, but there are no concrete conversations for now," TNT Sports quotes Carlos Mac Allister as saying.

"We will decide together with Brighton, they deserve respect. We will also choose the best project based on the coach, it is not just about money."

Mac Allister has been with Brighton since 2019, making the move from Argentinos Juniors, and he has represented the English side on 101 occasions, scoring 18 goals and registering eight assists.

The attacker has netted eight times and registered one assist in 25 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls during the 2022-23 campaign.

Meanwhile, Mac Allister has also netted twice and provided one assist in FA Cup outings, with Brighton preparing to face Manchester United in the semi-finals of the competition.

The Argentine played the full 90 minutes of Brighton's 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool are preparing to overhaul their midfield this summer, with Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set to leave on free transfers, while Chelsea are also believed to be keen to add more players in that area of the field despite paying huge money for Enzo Fernandez in January.
