Scott Dann replaces Mile Jedinak as Crystal Palace captain

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew confirms that Scott Dann has replaced Mile Jedinak as captain.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has stripped the captaincy from Mile Jedinak and handed it to Scott Dann for the upcoming Premier League season.

Jedinak became skipper in the 2012-13 season, but Pardew opted to make a change following the team's pre-season tour of North America.

The Australian struggled for form in the 2015-16 campaign and his appearances were limited due to injuries.

When explaining his decision, Pardew told the club's official website: "I've decided to change the club captaincy. Mile has been legendary for this football club and a brilliant leader. I just thought it was time for a change and I think Scott will carry it well."

Dann joined Palace from Blackburn Rovers in 2014.
