Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has claimed that he will put the England rivalry between himself and Jordan Pickford to the back of his mind this weekend.
The Potters will take on Everton at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday with the hope of climbing out of the relegation zone.
Both Butland and Pickford will be hoping to impress England manager Gareth Southgate in the final stretch of the league season ahead of the World Cup in Russia this summer.
However, the former is not allowing himself to think that far ahead given that Stoke are in desperate need of points.
"I'm up against Jordan on Saturday, but I'm not going to be thinking about that," The Mirror quotes Butland as saying. "I'll be making sure we get the win and do as much as I can to help that.
"You come away and always look at yourself and what you could do better after a game. I felt I managed to make some good saves, right decisions and my kicking was good on Monday.
"As a keeper, you have to let the game come to you and do everything you can to be as steady and assured as possible."
Stoke are just one point adrift of safety.
