Roberto Martinez expects Bryan Oviedo to return this season

Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that Bryan Oviedo will be able to return from his hamstring injury before the end of the season.

Roberto Martinez has revealed that he expects Bryan Oviedo to play again for Everton before the end of the current season.

The Costa Rica international has not played since February after tearing his hamstring while in Europa League action with the Toffees.

However, the manager told the Liverpool Echo: "I expect him to be training at the end of this week so we are probably looking at two or three weeks before he is back, maybe the Sunderland game.

"It was a bad injury. The tendon got a bad tear. It wasn't a pull in the belly of the muscle, it was a tear right on the tendon, really high up."

Everton are 12th in the table following three wins and a draw in their last four matches.
