Everton boss Roberto Martinez wary of new manager effect at Sunderland

Everton boss Roberto Martinez believes that Sam Allardyce's arrival at Sunderland will give them a boost for this Sunday's Premier League match.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said he is wary that the boost of Sam Allardyce's arrival at Sunderland could affect the outcome of Sunday's Premier League game.

Performances have improved since Allardyce, who left West Ham United in the summer, took charge earlier this month.

The Black Cats suffered a 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion, but they bounced back with a 3-0 win over arch rivals Newcastle United in the Wear-Tyne derby last weekend.

"Everything is about Sunday," Martinez said in this morning's press conference. "We know Sunderland have had a positive reaction to the new manager. We know the strengths of this Sunderland side. They were strong against West Brom but in the derby they were very good."

Everton are currently 11th in the league table.
