Everton boss Marco Silva has reportedly decided to trim his squad during the January transfer window.
Mason Holgate will allegedly be allowed to join a new club on a temporary basis at the midway point of the campaign, and Silva appears to have opted to hand the same chance to James McCarthy and Oumar Niasse.
According to The Mirror, Silva is keen for McCarthy to gain regular match action elsewhere, with the Irishman having recovered from a broken leg which has kept him out for a year.
The 28-year-old could be kept in the Toffees squad next season if he makes a positive impression, but it has been suggested that Niasse already has no future at Goodison Park.
The Senegalese has scored eight times in 12 starts and 19 substitute outings for Everton in the Premier League, but the forward has featured for just 48 minutes in the top flight during the current campaign.
