Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is reportedly closing in on a new deal that would make him the highest-paid player in the club's history.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Toffees on numerous occasions in recent transfer windows, with some of Europe's top clubs rumoured to be interested.
However, the Liverpool Echo claims that the Belgian has decided to remain at Goodison Park for at least another season, during which time he will earn a club-record wage of £100,000 per week.
The report goes on to state that the new deal would not extend Lukaku's contract beyond the current expiry date in July 2019, but will see the striker earn a £25,000-a-week pay rise.
Should the Toffees decide to sell Lukaku next summer then it is thought the new deal would also allow them to command a fee in excess of £80m.
Lukaku has scored nine times in 15 Premier League appearances so far this season and has 70 goals in 142 games for the club since arriving from Chelsea in 2014.
