Fulham manager Martin Jol believes that Adel Taarabt is "gifted", but needs to prove his doubters wrong.
The Moroccon, who is on a season-long loan at the Cottagers from Queens Park Rangers, recently faced some criticism from former boss Neil Warnock, who said that the midfielder's best years in England are behind him.
"He is still young, so if his time is over [in England] then we've got a real problem," West London Sport quotes Jol as saying.
"He's one of the most gifted players you will ever see on the pitch. He is a Maradona-type talent, but he has to be a team player as well.
"If things are not coming off for him then people could say he's not a team player and that his time is over, but hopefully they're not right. He has to prove to other people, not to me, that he is a team player."
Taarabt has made just four starts for Fulham this season.
