Hull City striker Matt Fryatt could miss the rest of the season after breaking down in training with a recurrence of an Achilles injury.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has revealed that striker Matt Fryatt could miss the rest of the season with an Achilles injury.

The 26-year-old forward pulled up in training on Thursday morning with a recurrence of the problem that has restricted him to just one appearance this season and Bruce has admitted that it is a huge blow for the club.

Bruce told BBC Radio Humberside: "It looks like Matt is going to have to have an operation after he broke down this morning.

"It's devastating news but we just have to deal with it."

Fryatt has scored 25 goals in 70 appearances for Hull.
