Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has described his disappointment at being forced to miss Chile's friendly with England tonight, while eyeing a speedy recovery from a thigh injury.
Vidal was forced to withdraw from the Chile squad for friendlies against Brazil and the Three Lions due to a muscle strain, which is expected to keep him sidelined for around a fortnight.
With Juve fighting for a third successive Serie A title Vidal has insisted that he is desperate to return swiftly, while admitting that missing out on Chile's latest World Cup preparations is tough to take.
He is quoted by Football Italia as saying: "I'm very unhappy, it's a shame that I will be missing from two such important matches.
"The ties against England and Brazil will count as they will help the team prepare for the World Cup. I wanted to be a part of them.
"Now I just hope to recover as quickly as possible so that I can be ready for Juventus when the championship resumes after the international break."
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a fine start to his third season at the Juve Arena, scoring seven times in 16 appearances.
