Jonny Howson: 'Leeds United should stick with Neil Redfearn'

Former Leeds United midfielder Jonny Howson says that Neil Redfearn is the right man to manage the club in the long term.

Jonny Howson has said that Neil Redfearn should remain as head coach of Leeds United beyond the end of this season.

Redfearn's deal expires after the current Championship campaign ends, and the Yorkshire club are expected to make a decision on his future in the summer.

Howson, who scored for Norwich City on his return to Leeds on Tuesday evening, believes that the future looks brighter with Redfearn at the helm.

"I obviously knew Redders from my time at the club and I've only good things to say about him," he told Sky Sports News.

"Certainly for these young lads - I spoke to a couple of them after the game and they speak very highly of him. And I don't think there's any better man, certainly managing a young side like this.

"He's going to educate them, he'll bring them on and if they can all stick together I'm sure it's going to be very exciting times ahead for Leeds."

Howson played 226 games for Leeds before joining Norwich in 2012.
