Leeds United have confirmed that Portsmouth defender James Pearce has joined the club on a four-year deal.
It was understood yesterday that the 24-year-old would be announced today as Neil Warnock's first signing of the summer.
"Leeds showed an interest a few weeks ago and as soon as I knew of that I wanted to get it done," Pearce told the club's official website. "I'm glad it's done now.
"The gaffer showed me around, and you can see what a massive club this is with great facilities, and you can't turn it down. I'm delighted to be here and can't wait to move forward now. When you look at the fans here, they want to be back where they belong, and I hope I can help."
The former Pompey captain picked up the Player of the Year award during a stint at Bournemouth in the 2010-11 season.
