Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Ragnar Klavan will not feature in his squad for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final clash with Manchester City.
Earlier on Tuesday, Liverpool announced that Joel Matip would likely miss the rest of the campaign with a thigh problem, which seemingly left the Merseyside giants with just three fit centre-backs for the meeting with the Premier League leaders.
However, at his pre-match press conference, Klopp said that Klavan was also not fit enough to play a part at Anfield, with Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren the only remaining central defenders at the club.
Klopp also claimed that Emre Can remains a doubt for the fixture, although insists that the versatile German international is "very, very close" to recovering from a back injury.
Midfielder Adam Lallana has been ruled out for "a number of weeks" after sustaining a hamstring injury at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
