Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp suggests that Alberto Moreno could have a future at the club following his performance during the 3-0 pre-season win over Bayern Munich.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Alberto Moreno could still have a future at the club following his performance during Tuesday's 3-0 win over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

The 25-year-old was widely expected to leave Anfield this summer having made just two Premier League starts last season, with makeshift left-back James Milner preferred to him in Klopp's starting lineup.

However, Moreno was one of Liverpool's standout performers during their Audi Cup victory yesterday, and Klopp hinted that he could play his way back into contention with regular performances of that level.

"If he plays like he did today then yeah [he has a chance of playing]. It was a really good game by Alberto. That's why we kept him playing every second," he told reporters.

"He was playing better, he's really fit. He had a little problem with his thigh but we had a test with him in the morning and he was okay. The players decide themselves how many games they play."

Liverpool are understood to have already turned down an £11m bid for Moreno from Napoli this summer.
