Liverpool reportedly expect to play their remaining home fixtures in the Premier League at Anfield, rather than at a neutral venue.

Liverpool are reportedly expecting to be given the green light to play their remaining home fixtures in the Premier League at Anfield.

While plans have been announced regarding the restart of England's top flight, it has been suggested that the leaders may have to avoid competing at their Merseyside home.

With Jurgen Klopp's side expected to end a three-decade wait for a league crown, there are fears that any success will lead to mass gatherings in the city.

However, despite suggestions that games will be staged elsewhere, the Evening Standard claims that Liverpool do not expect to play fixtures at another ground.

The report adds that club officials accept that further discussions may be required in order to ensure that being confirmed as champions does not risk fans violating government-imposed restrictions.

With nine games remaining, Liverpool hold a 25-point advantage over Manchester City, who have played one match fewer than the pacesetters.
