Three Liverpool footballers have made the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year nominations, with a player each from Manchester City, Chelsea and Southampton taking the other three.
Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez are the three Reds players chosen in the season that has seen the club take the driving seat in the Premier League title race.
The other three players are Yaya Toure, Eden Hazard and Adam Lallana as the third English player on the list and, according to PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor, all have a strong chance of winning.
"These awards celebrate outstanding achievement in football and looking at this year's nominations it is clear that this has been an incredibly competitive year," Taylor told BT Sport.
"Each of the six men nominated for the players' award could expect to be recognised by their fellow professionals, as they have each had a superb season individually and played significant roles in the success of their clubs this year."
