Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers believes that Daniel Sturridge will be one of the best strikers in the league this season.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has hailed Daniel Sturridge after the striker resumed full training this week.

The forward has been included in the squad to face Celtic this evening after recovering from an ankle injury.

Rodgers insists that he will be among the top Premier League strikers this season.

"Daniel had a bad injury at the end of last season," Rodgers told a press conference.

"He has worked very hard. He looks very good and very strong. He's not up to start yet but he'll have some involvement.

"It's great news because I believe he'll be one of the best strikers in the Premier League this year."

Sturridge has scored 10 goals in 14 games for Liverpool since joining from Chelsea in January.
