Daniel Sturridge leaves training on crutches

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is unlikely to feature against Hull City on Sunday after leaving training yesterday on crutches.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge was spotted on crutches yesterday after injuring his ankle during training.

As a result, the England international is unlikely to feature during Sunday's Premier League encounter with Hull City at the KC Stadium.

Medical staff fear that the England international may have done damage to his ligaments, and await the results of an ankle scan later on today.

It is a blow for Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, who said that the 24-year-old had trained "exceptionally well" this week following his omission from the Merseyside derby.

Sturridge has scored nine league goals this season.
