Fulham manager Martin Jol will reportedly attempt to sign Carlton Cole from West Ham United if the Hammers are successful in their loan pursuit of Liverpool frontman Andy Carroll.
Jol is also believed to be in the race to acquire Carroll, but fears that his club do not have the financial ability to make the deal happen.
As a result, former England international Cole, whose starting opportunities at West Ham would be hampered by Carroll's arrival, has emerged as a transfer target for the Craven Cottage-based club, according to The People.
The 28-year-old would command a fee in the region of £5m.
