Liverpool have reportedly been told that it will take a bid of €100m (£89m) to prise Gelson Martins away from Sporting Lisbon at the end of the season.
The Reds are understood to be looking for options to bolster their attack even further after losing Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona earlier this month, although they are unlikely to consider a move for Martins this month.
The 22-year-old has a €60m (£53.4m) release clause in his current contract, but reports in Portugal have claimed that Sporting can pay the player €1.5m (£1.3m) to increase that to €100m.
The Portuguese outfit are prepared to do that should any club make a move in January, with Liverpool reportedly joined in the race for his signature by Juventus and Bayern Munich.
Martins has scored seven goals in 25 appearances across all competitions for Sporting this season, laying on a further four for his teammates.
