England boss Gareth Southgate is reportedly tempted to include Liverpool's versatile full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold in his squad for this summer's World Cup.
The Three Lions are already without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez for Russia 2018, while Adam Lallana is a major fitness doubt.
According to The Telegraph, Southgate intends to offer one of the available spots to Alexander-Arnold, who has impressed for Liverpool this term and looks certain to start this month's Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Another versatile player in Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon is said to be in with a shout of making the cut, despite also never previously being capped at senior international level.
Southgate must name his provisional 35-man squad to FIFA on Monday, before announcing his final 23 a few days later at Wembley Stadium.
