Malaga forward Juanmi has revealed his delight after being called into the senior Spain squad for the first time.
The 21-year-old was not initially selected by La Roja boss Vicente del Bosque, but an injury to Chelsea's Diego Costa opened up a place in the squad for the youngster.
Spain will face Ukraine and Netherlands during the international break and Juanmi has said that it is "a great honour" to be part of the European champions.
"This call-up is not only a tribute to the team but something for all the kids at the academy to aspire to," Juanmi told reporters.
"It's a dream I've had since I was small and comes as a surprise, but it's also a great honour and recognition for the work the team has put in. I think that says everything. It's a great experience that every player should enjoy."
Juanmi has scored seven league goals for Malaga this season.
